| yes, I know...it's been a long, LONG, LOOOONG time since I've written, and things haven't changed a lot from the previous post. :-/
anyhoo...I'm moving my blog. I don't really like this username, or this service. sorry xanga, you've been good to me. :'( - but not really.
my new blog is http://fluffman86.blogspot.com
This is not like Xanga, in that you don't go to that website, sign up for a Xanga subscription, and get email notifications that I've posted. Actually, it's better! Here's what you can do: 1. You can just read it on the site...kinda boring, I know. 2. Using Firefox (sorry, this doesn't work in IE, but IE sucks anyway...) you can go to my site and click the LiveBookmark button (the little orange radio-wave symbol).
It's in the bottom right corner in FireFox 1.0 - 1.0.7, and it's right next to the address bar in Firefox 1.5 (which you should have updated to already ). Then, you can save that as a regular bookmark (in the Bookmark Folder) or on the Bookmark Toolbar. Then just click on the little button that appeared after you saved it and you can see what I've written or if I've updated and you'll go straight to that update.
3. You can use an RSS reader. Many of these are available for free. you can go to www.google.com/reader and log into your google account or create one there or contact me for an invitation to google email with 2.6 Gigabytes of storage. Then you can enter my feed (http://fluffman86.blogspot.com/atom.xml) and everytime you log into the reader it will check to see if I have updated.
You can also use Thunderbird (or Outlook or whatever) as an RSS reader. Thunderbird is completely free, and allows you to check multiple email accounts and RSS feeds at once (hotmail and yahoo won't let you though, but gmail and school email accounts let you use thunderbird) To do this (in Thunderbird 1.0.7) go to tools > account settings > click add account > click rss news and blogs and click next and give it a name. Then on the main page click on your news & blogs icon and click manage subscriptions, then add, then enter the feed that I listed above. This will allow you to check your email and will automatically notify you of any updates to any blog, and allow you to read it within t-bird.
These RSS feeds are used for lots of websites, so you aren't just wasting your time by doing it for my blog. Places like CNN.com, google news, ABS, different forums, and many other blogs (including any livejournal or blogspot blog) use RSS feeds.
Please, stop on by and leave me a comment sometime! Hope to see you soon! Oh, and if you DO stop by or sign up for my RSS feed, you'll soon see the details for a Christmas party at my house (hopefully)! or at least you'll hear from me about it sometime!
peace out, homies.
